Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Patient with Aortic Stenosis and Preexcitation
نویسندگان
چکیده
58-year-old male sustained sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) due to ventricular fibrillation (VF) while at work and was resuscitated with shock therapy. He had prior history of coronary artery disease bypass, preexcitation, pulmonary hypertension, hyperlipidemia, Hodgkin's disease, hypothyroidism squamous cell carcinoma. His EKG showed preexcitation. Echocardiogram moderately reduced left ejection fraction (LVEF) 37% along severe aortic valve stenosis (AS) calculated area 0.66 cm2, mean gradient 6.9 mmHg peak AV velocity 2.09 m/s. This consistent low output stenosis. Patient underwent angiogram that revealed no acute occlusion.

The Aassociation between Pre-Cardiac Arrest Comorbidity and Unsuccessful Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Patients with Cardiac Arrest
Background and Objective: Patients suffering from cardiac arrest (CA) have poor prognosis and survival. The association of pre-arrest comorbidity with unsuccessful resuscitation in patients with CA is far from clear. The aim of the present study was to investigate the association between pre-existing comorbidity and unsuccessful resuscitation following CA in Iranian patients. Materials and Met...
متن کاملSudden cardiac arrest associated with early repolarization.
BACKGROUND Early repolarization is a common electrocardiographic finding that is generally considered to be benign. Its potential to cause cardiac arrhythmias has been hypothesized from experimental studies, but it is not known whether there is a clinical association with sudden cardiac arrest. METHODS We reviewed data from 206 case subjects at 22 centers who were resuscitated after cardiac a...
متن کاملMale Pseudohermaphroditism Presented with Sudden Cardiac Arrest
Torsades de pointes is a life-threatening arrhythmia associated with a number of causes, but is very rare among endocrinologic disorders. We report a case of male pseudohermaphroditism with hyperaldosteronism due to a 17α-hydroxylase deficiency presented with sudden cardiac arrest.
متن کاملIncidence of syncope and cardiac arrest in patients with severe aortic stenosis.
INTRODUCTION Syncope and sudden cardiac arrest are known complications of aortic stenosis (AS). OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to investigate the incidence of these complications in patients with severe symptomatic AS and to analyze whether basic clinical data and electrocardiographic (ECG) and echocardiographic parameters can be the markers of these complications. PATIENTS AND METHO...
